Jersey’s Police Chief, Robin Smith is joining Tim Ringsdore on his Roads Challenge on Monday 21st February, to raise funds for the JSPCA and Autism Jersey.
Tim is aiming to walk every road in the Island during the year, a total of 466 miles, and has asked members of the community to join him.
Robin can be seen regularly out walking in St Helier, but is looking forward to joining Tim, “It’s going to be great fun to be back on the ‘beat’ with Tim in support of this charity walk. JSPCA and Autism Jersey do so much for the island.
“All of us in States of Jersey Police wish Tim every success, although if we spot a criminal on the walk it may turn into a run!”
Tim, a keen walker and CEO of Jersey’s Competition Regulator, wanted to take on a unique challenge that could allow him to see parts of his home Island that he’d never seen, and give back to the community. “I started off with the aim of raising £2,000 to be split equally between the JCRA and Autism Jersey.
“Thanks to the generosity of people, we smashed that target and so I’ve doubled the challenge, and want to get £4,000 for the two charities. I’ve had all sorts of people greet me and join me as I’ve walked around Jersey and support from key members of our community, like Robin, is essential for my motivation and to help me raise awareness for these fantastic charities, which demonstrates what an amazing community spirit we have here.”
The JSPCA is the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority’s chosen charity for 2022 and Tim is supporting Autism Jersey personally.
Tim will also be at Jersey Rugby Club on Saturday 19th February, for the Jersey Reds match against Ealing. Tim will undertake a 10 mile walk to the club, and then there will be a collection and an interview with him at half time.
Tim is sharing videos, photos, interviews and updates on the dedicated Facebook page.
If you see him walking around the Island, give him a toot, ring your bicycle bell or just say hello and if you would like to donate you can go to his just giving page.
If you want to join Tim and help raise your own funds for these charities let him know [email protected].
