First Central has donated £2,488 to the Smile for Georgie Foundation after matching the funds raised from the ‘Auction of Promises’ initiative.
The popular annual fundraising event returned again this November for the sixth year.
The First Central team and their friends and family donated their own goods or time to be auctioned off online as prizes. The money raised is split between First Central’s charities of the year.
From 17th to 26th November, the initiative ran across the multiple locations that the business operates in including Guernsey, Gibraltar, Sussex and Manchester. More than £15,000 was raised in total with £2,488 going to the Smile for Georgie Foundation in Guernsey.
The auction saw fundraising generated through the bidding of either people’s skills or services including wedding photography, Gary Barlow tickets, Red restaurant vouchers, Guernsey Fudge, overnight stays and even the chance to have one day extra of annual leave from work.
John Davison, Chief Information Officer at First Central, said: “The Smile for Georgie Foundation is a charity close to our hearts at First Central. It aims to make a difference and bring smiles to the people of Guernsey through small acts of kindness. A big thank you to our very generous team for their donations, which we know make a significant impact to local families.”
