Voter information hub for Guernsey’s Parish Elections

To help voters make their choice in the parish elections in St Peter Port and St Martin, Women in Public Life has created a voter information hub.

Each candidate has an individual page showing their photo and contact details, plus links to their leaflet and any social media accounts. The Hub also lists the polling stations and will be kept up to date with any ‘Meet The Candidate’ events.

At their parish election meetings on 3 November, St Peter Port and St Martin’s residents decided to defer their elections so that all eligible voters could take part if they wished. The new election date is Wednesday 17 November 2021 and polling stations will be set up at the St Martin’s Parish Hall for St Martin’s voters between 8 am and 8 pm and the Constables Office and Beau Sejour for St Peter Port voters from 10 am to 8 pm.

Shelaine Green, Chair of Women in Public Life, said: “Our Douzaines are our grassroots democracy, making significant decisions about how our parish rates are spent to improve our local area. On 17 November, voters in St Peter Port and St Martin will choose who will best represent their views when those decisions are being made.

“We want to help make the voting process as easy as possible so that more people feel involved with their parish and therefore are more likely to consider standing for election themselves. So we’ve gathered all the information about the candidates, the polling stations and the candidate events on our website – just go to womeninpubliclife.gg”.

Women in Public Life is a group of local volunteers that inspires the women of Guernsey to stand for a variety of roles in public office.
