Guernsey’s Cancer charities have benefitted from the baking skills of staff at Skipton’s headquarters in Guernsey, with a hefty £2,000 being raised at a recent cake bake.
Colleagues used the national MacMillan Coffee morning event to bake savouries and cakes, provide lunches of jacket potatoes, lasagne and chilli, and ensure that all staff didn’t go hungry throughout the day! In return, they donated funds towards cancer charities.
The donations were divided between the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief, Bulstrode House and MacMillan Cancer.
Advocate Peter Atkinson, Chairman of the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone at Skipton who participated, and helped raise such a wonderful amount. This kind donation will ensure our work can continue in serving the people of the Bailiwick whenever they need our support.”
