Tickets and travel for late night buses from Guernsey’s West Show, North Show and The Vale Earth Fair can now be pre-booked.

The pre-booked tickets have been organised by Guernsey’s CT Plus bus company, in conjunction with the Health Improvement Commission’s Substance Use department and Traffic and Highways services.

Travel on the additional late-night buses can only be done with an advance ticket, bought in-person from the Town Terminus Shop. Those with mobility difficulties who may find it difficult to get to the shop can call 01481 700456 where the team will be able to help you.

The advance tickets cost £3 and are available for three events: The West Show on 18th and 19th August, The North Show on 25th and 26th August and The Vale Earth Fair on 29th August.

The 48 additional special buses create many options for those planning their journey back from the events. Advance tickets in island events that they have plenty of benefits:

  • Your seat is guaranteed
  • Parents can be reassured that their children will have a way to get home at a time they are aware of in advance
  • Boarding becomes safer and easier to manage for the event organisers
  • Those with mobility difficulties or hidden disabilities are not having to queue

Guernsey Disability Alliance partnership director Karen Blanchford said: “We know this creates confidence for our members and all those who want to know their place on the bus is arranged and they will be able to get home safely.

“Catching a bus with a night late queue can be stressful, particularly for those with hidden disabilities or those using access aids. The advance ticket sales actually let the bus driver know if there will be a wheelchair user on the bus. With one place for a wheelchair on each bus, this also lets the bus company help plan for any other wheelchair users. The aim here is that two wheelchair users won’t be queuing for the same bus.

“We hope that all our members, friends and community visiting the shows and Vale Earth Fair this August enjoy their time.”

The tickets and routes are now available to be purchased in person from the Town Terminus Shop. No more than four tickets for each event can be bought by any one individual.

The shop opening hours are from 8am – 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am – 4pm on Sundays.  More information can be read here
