The Jersey Hospitality Association is holding its first face-to-face careers fair since the Covid pandemic started, to attract people to fill the many roles on offer in the industry.
The event, which is between 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday 10th May at the Pomme d’Or Hotel, will feature a range of businesses and services linked to the hospitality industry including hotels, restaurants and guest houses.
It is aimed at showcasing the industry to people on the Back to Work scheme, individuals exploring new career options, students and those making career decisions once they have left education.
Simon Soar, Chief Executive of the JHA, said: “It’s no secret that hospitality has had an extremely tough year, but we are bouncing back and hospitality remains one of the most rewarding industries to work in.
“Those of us that work in hospitality love what we do and have a genuine passion for ensuring that our guests and customers have the best possible experience, and where better to start on that road than here in Jersey. The sheer variety of roles and opportunities on offer are mind boggling. The skills you can learn allow you to work anywhere in the world and people earn better salaries than many realise.
“Monday’s careers fair is not just for those who are joining us from the schools, colleges and Back to Work. It’s open to anyone who wants to come down and speak to our members and find out more about careers and roles within the industry.”
