ChannelEye TV is today coming from a Jersey beachside location that will be instantly recognisable to fans of the hit TV series, the Real Housewives of Jersey.
The second series of the Real Housewives of Jersey is airing from 27th December.
New housewives Sarha Courtnay and Karen Loderick-Peace join the cast, which includes Ashley Cairney, Kate Taylor, Mia Ledbury, Margaret Thompson and Tessa Hartmann from season one.
We join stars of the TV show Margaret Thompson and Kate Taylor, with Brian Constantine getting some insight and secrets.
Brian started the conversation: “So ladies, really exciting news, season two of The Real Housewives of Jersey is happening.”
“Yes!” said Margaret excitedly, “that’s why we’ve got the champagne. Yes, we’re very excited!”
So, following a successful season one, what are the ladies looking forward to most for season two?
Kate was clear that she wants more fun! “I want more funny bits in it, I really do, because there was a lot of fun and funny bits in season one.”
Margaret explained: “with a drama like the Housewives series, there has to be the drama in it, so we’ll have the fun and let the others do the drama.”
Kate agrees with this, adding: “Yeah they can do the drama, we’re just gonna have the fun!”
There has been talk on social media about the possibility of ‘spin-off’ shows and Brian asked “can you see any sort of spin-off show coming out of The Real Housewives?”
Margaret answered, smiling: “I’m open to everything, who knows, so who knows.”
With the series being filmed entirely on location in Jersey, it really showed how beautiful the island is. Brian asked: “What positive things do you think have come out of Real Housewives for Jersey?”
Margaret was very clear on this: “Tourism. We have a lot of followers between us and the majority of them keep saying ‘oh my mother was in Jersey when she was younger before she had me’, ‘my father was in Jersey’ or ‘I haven’t been to Jersey for years’. There’s a lot of people in the UK that are going to come and visit jersey this year.
Brian then asked about season one: “What was the most enjoyable thing that you did?
At this, Kate smiled and said: Oh my favourite to this day, and my ribs ached for two days, was when the lovely Matthew dropped his robe when we were doing the life drawing!”
Margaret, laughing with Kate said: “Oh yes, and one of my favourite moments was everyone laughing at me when I was singing to Coco on her birthday.”
Brian asked Kate what’s the best thing about Jersey?
Everything, from the little businesses, to the food, the restaurants, the beaches, everything. There is nothing not to love about Jersey.”
Margaret explained: “The lifestyle and the love in Jersey is quite incredible and it’s lovely that we are a small community.”
Brian than asked Kate: “If you could have any celebrity – dead or alive – around for dinner, who would it be?”
Kate replied: “Well I’d prefer them alive to be honest! A girl from the past that I would want round, would be Marilyn Monroe, obviously to find out all the proper juice, and then a man would be, I know that this is weird, would be Meatloaf. Yeah because I just think he’s so my favourite.”
“Is that why you married your husband?” asked Margaret.
“Because he looked like Meatloaf? Yes!” answered Kate.
So, do the girls have a celebrity crush?
Kate said “Yes I do, but everybody’s got this crush – It’s Henry Cavill. I like a ‘fur burr’. I like big hairy men, manly men”.
Brian asked Margaret: “Are you a Superman fan Margaret?”
“Yes” replied Margaret. “In fact we went to the Superman Premiere together didn’t we?”
At this, Brian recalled: “We did go to the Premiere together yeah, you gate crashed it!”
“I did gate crash” admitted Margaret.
Kate adds: “I nearly got thrown out of it does that count? I have worked my way down many a cocktail list.”
“Yes, I’m sure you have” adds Margaret, “Many a cock-tail !”
Join the Housewives of Jersey when it is aired on ITVBe later this month, December 2021.
