It was a best-selling book, and now it’s set to be a big screen movie – and the trailer for ‘The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society’ film has been released, attracting more than 100,000 views across a range of social media channels in the first day alone.
The film originally has the same title as the book, then was shorted to just ‘Guernsey’, but has now reverted to the full title.
The film gets its UK release on 20 April this year, and Visit Guernsey hope it will lead to additional interest in the island from potential visitors.
Though not filmed in Guernsey, it tells the story of one aspect of island life during the Occupation.
Lily James plays free-spirited journalist Juliet Ashton, who forms a life-changing bond with the eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, when she decides to write about the book club they formed during the German occupation of Guernsey during WWII.
Visit Guernsey have set up a section of their website dedicated to the film, which you can see here.
