Brooks Macdonald International has bolstered its Jersey-based investment team with the promotions of Akos Dietrich, who becomes Investment Director, and Scott Goodrum, who has been made Senior Investment Manager.
In his new role, Akos will also assume the position of Head of Direct Strategies, while heading up the firm’s Jersey-based Implementation team. The Direct Strategies team encompasses the Corporate Bond, Strategic Income and Direct Equity teams which Akos oversees. With a focus on managing fixed income strategies and with responsibility for credit research, Akos also sits on Brooks Macdonald’s fixed interest research team. In addition, Akos Co-Heads the Fixed Income Fund range which was acquired as part of the recent Lloyds Acquisition.
Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald in 2015, he worked at Lloyds Banking Group in Jersey as an Investment Manager. He has over 11 years’ experience in the financial services industry and was named as one of 2020 PAM Top 40 Under 40 rising stars of the private client wealth management sector working in the UK and UK Crown Dependencies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Scott, who also joined Brooks Macdonald in 2015, manages bespoke discretionary portfolios on behalf of a range of clients, whilst also sitting on the firm’s fixed interest research team. Scott also heads up the Strategic Income strategy team, working closely with Akos and the other Direct Strategy team members.
He has worked in financial services since 2010 and, prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, worked at the Royal Bank of Canada and Barclays Wealth.
Scott holds the Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM), the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a Level II CFA Candidate. He is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI).
The promotions form part of Brooks Macdonald International’s ongoing reinvigoration of the Channel Islands business.
