Following the recent Brexit negotiations and deal with the EU, the Institute of Directors (IoD) Guernsey Branch will be hosting special webinar on Wednesday 24th February.
Joined by Allie Renison, a former government adviser on EU trade and legislative issues, and current Head of EU & Trade Policy for the IoD, we will discuss what the post- Brexit negotiations mean for the financial services sector, which was outside of the Brexit trade deal between the UK and the EU.
Whilst at the IoD, Allie has led on devising recommendations and representing the voice of members on EU policy matters both to Westminster and Whitehall, as well as with a number of European institutions. She has authored several reports on trends in both trade and trade policy, and has an impressive knowledge of the Brexit negotiations. In this webinar, Allie will provide attendees with insights beyond the media headlines, and will discuss :
- The post-Brexit services trade deal
- What are the UK-EU memorandum of understanding (MOU) talks on services about?
- What are the timings of these talks?
- Can Guernsey’s financial services industry take advantage of the coming changes?
- How is the IoD representing members on this topic?
Allie will be joined by Jo Reeve, Director of International Relations & Constitutional Affairs for the States of Guernsey who led the island’s Brexit negotiations. He will update members on the current implications for the service sector and beyond. Jo will also be able to answer any member questions.
