Free online care training courses offered by Care Academy

Care Academy, the training arm of LV Care Group in Jersey, has announced the rollout of a free bundle of mandatory care training courses via their online portal, up until 4th January 2021.

The courses are for those individuals currently working in the care industry to update their training, as well as people new to the profession to train in the principals of care and be eligible to start new care roles; something which will prove invaluable during the shortfall in staff numbers locally during the pandemic outbreak.  The courses are also suitable for anyone delivering care or support services to family members at this time.

The training bundle contains four courses, all of which are CPD certified and CSTF aligned:

  • Level 1 Health and safety
  • Level 2 Infection control
  • Level 1 Principles of moving and handling
  • Fire safety

Verity Sangan, Head of Training at LV Care Group commented: “During this challenging time, particularly for the care sector in Jersey, we recognise that meeting mandatory training requirements is difficult for many. We also appreciate that there are people new to the sector at this time to meet the increasing demand for care workers, as well as those ill, isolating or having to care for family members at home.

“We hope that by providing the courses online and for free for a period will ease the burden for people to carry out the mandatory training and also make it more accessible during these times”.

There are also a range of other online training courses which are also free of charge, including Jersey SPB endorsed safeguarding training. These courses are available here.
