Henderson Green, the largest and longest established practice of M&E chartered consulting engineers in the Channel Islands, is celebrating 40 years of successfully serving the Jersey construction industry.

Established in Jersey in 1979 by Clive Henderson and Mike Green, a Guernsey arm of the business opened in 2012 reflecting increased demand for on-island skilled and expert consultancy covering all aspects of energy, mechanical and electrical engineering services. The Jersey company is now co-owned by Craig Armstrong and Andrew Cleave who bring significant international experience of private, corporate, commercial and public sector developments to the business.

Before founders Clive Henderson and Mike Green brought engineering services to the islands, local contractors had to source solutions from the UK.  Over the past 40 years, Henderson Green has invested in building an on-island team able to deliver both innovative and common-sense design of services for today’s modern, complex and sustainable buildings.

Those who know the Henderson Green team recognise their commitment to working incredibly hard but also having fun in the process.  Office BB Gun Games, Sandstorm Challenges and a well-stocked drinks fridge have helped calm nerves during particularly stressful developments in recent years!

Recruiting the right team members who fit the company’s professional and fun ethos is critical but finding skilled talent has been one of the biggest challenges faced by the company. As a result, Henderson Green in Jersey and Guernsey now train their own engineers in house with fully paid training contracts.

Henderson Green is passionate about bringing the very best solutions to developments across health, education and leisure, historic buildings, large residential and commercial buildings. Notable Jersey projects the team has worked on include the Millennium Town Park, College Gardens, Jersey Hospice and Royal Court buildings in both Jersey and Guernsey.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard to build and maintain our excellent reputation. Our focus has always been, and continues to be, on delivering the very best mechanical and electrical services solutions to the Channel Islands. Our commitment to the environment in which we work is total and we will continue to introduce market-leading technology solutions that minimise energy in use and carbon footprint. We look forward to continuing to invest in our exciting and thriving business for another 40 years, and more,” says Craig Armstrong, Director and Co-Owner Henderson Green.
