Deloitte has further strengthened its tax team in Jersey with the promotion of Kathryn Wintle to the role of Director and the appointment of Harry Lawson as Senior Manager.

The appointment and promotion recognise the significant and sustained opportunities for growth in the Channel Islands tax practice, responding to global trends that include increased corporate, social and tax responsibilities, and transparency.

Ms Wintle joined Deloitte in 2003 and has been promoted to Director with day-to-day client and market responsibility for the management of the Jersey tax practice and its real estate, international tax and reporting, private client and domestic tax specialist teams.

With more than 15 years of tax experience, advising on corporate and international tax matters for UK and Jersey property groups, international financing structures and international partnerships, Ms Wintle has gained extensive knowledge in the areas of corporate, partnership and personal tax compliance, as well as structuring and M&A transactions.

Ms Wintle sits on the tax sub-group of the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants.

Mr Lawson will have primary responsibilityfor private client and wealth management taxation matters within the local tax team.He will work closely with the fiduciary and corporate service providers, advising them on their approach to new and existing tax regulation, in close coordination with Deloitte’s UK and broader international tax practices.

With more than 35 years’ private client and wealth management experience, Mr Lawson joins Deloitte with deep industry expertise, having worked in Jersey’s finance sector and previously at HM Revenue & Customs for 25 years.

Deloitte’s Channel Islands tax practice is uniquely positioned to provide expert jurisdictional advice together with its global network of firm partners.

Martin Rowley, Tax Partner at Deloitte, says, “Deloitte is well placed to service our tax clients, who typically have an international aspect to their business. As part of the wider Deloitte North-South Europe firm, we have a unique capability based on a strong local team supported by the broader Deloitte network. A major part of our continued success is the recognition that we offer outstanding career development – I am delighted that both Katy and Harry have found this with us.”
