Willis Towers Watson and ABTA Insurance have teamed-up and raised £11K for Saffery Rotary Walk
Global risk finance, accounting and insurance administration professionals Willis Towers Watson, who have offices in Guernsey, teamed up with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) to complete the 2019 Saffery Rotary Walk as a way of marking a long-standing relationship with the island.
John de Vial, Director of Financial Protection for ABTA , said: “We entered the walk to celebrate the 25thanniversary of the formation of ABTA Insurance PCC Limited. I have been visiting the island all of my life to see family and for business so I’m thrilled that our team, colleagues, friends and families have been able to raise more than £11,000. It’s a tremendous achievement and I hope it impacts the charities in a meaningful way.”
The team from Willis Towers Watson team are all Guernsey-based, while the ABTA team came over from London especially for the event.
Chairman of the Saffery Rotary Walk organising committee Simon Milsted said: “We are honoured that these two leading companies chose to participate in our event as a means of marking this important milestone. This is an incredible amount of money raised that will make a real difference to our overall total. We are pleased to see groups of colleagues walking the entire route together as a team, which adds another dimension to this already diverse and inclusive event.”
The Saffery Rotary Walk will announce to total amount raised once all sponsorship funds have been handed in. Money can be paid via walkers’ individual online donation page or by cheque to Saffery Rotary Walk, c/o Saffery Champness, La Tonnelle House, St Sampson’s, Guernsey, GY1 3HS.
