Smith & Williamson International (Smith & Williamson) has appointed a highly experienced compliance professional to the local management team of the business.
Jayne Button has over 30 years’ experience in financial services, including 20 in senior compliance roles. As Head of Compliance, International she will undertake anti-money laundering roles, as well as chairing the Risk and Compliance Committee.
Based in Jersey, Jayne will also work closely with her counterparts at Smith & Williamson risk and compliance teams in London and Ireland. Speaking about her new role, Jayne said, “Smith & Williamson has an excellent reputation and I am looking forward to working with the teams both here in Jersey, and in our other offices. It is a good time to be joining the business, which is enjoying exceptional growth and I am excited about being a part of such a skilled and professional team.”

As well as holding senior roles in significant offshore financial services firms, Jayne has provided professional compliance consultancy services to trust companies, banks, investment houses and the unregulated private sector. She was a member of the first front office team in Jersey to achieve ISO9001 accreditation*, assisted in the establishment of a bank locally with responsibility for setting up the Compliance function, and has co-written and implemented an online Anti-Money Laundering training course.
She holds the Certificate in Offshore Compliance, ICA Diploma in Anti-Money Launcering and ICA Diploma in Compliance.
