Guernsey’s Chamber of Commerce is warning its members claims from a publishing company about a European Chamber of Commerce magazine and website may be bogus.
It’s issued the notice after it emerged an outfit with no affiliation or connection to the Guernsey namesake was contacting local firms, trying to sell advertising space.
In a statement, Guernsey Chamber said: “Please be aware that Guernsey Chamber has no affiliation or connection with a publishing company contacting local businesses re the European Chamber of Commerce magazine and website.”
“We have tried, without success, to obtain information on this project and are aware that email claims by the publishers that certain companies have definitely taken space in it are incorrect in some instances.”
