Global recruitment firm 1st Recruitment, established in 2002 and headquartered in Jersey, is appointing Suzy de Nobrega as a Manager to head up the Guernsey arm of the business.
Mrs de Nobrega joins the company from a Guernsey-based recruitment business where she has worked for the past three years and brings a wealth of experience across all financial services sectors as well as marketing and non-finance, her background prior to recruitment.
With over 10 years’ former sales and marketing experience, a move into the world of recruitment was a natural step for Mrs de Nobrega, who prides herself on offering a strategic and tailored approach to recruitment.
Commenting on her appointment, Suzy said: “I am delighted to be joining a firm with a solid reputation as one of Jersey’s leading recruitment agencies and to have the opportunity to build on the offering here in Guernsey. We have been very fortunate in the way Guernsey has handled Covid 19 and as such, the recruitment market has bounced back quickly with many employers actively seeking permanent and contract staff, so it is a great time to be focusing on growth”.
At a time when many employers are reviewing their policies and operations, Mrs de Nobrega will be working remotely in her new role.
Lynda Sims, Managing Director of 1 st Recruitment, said: “We are delighted that Suzy is joining us and the fantastic skills and experience that she will be bringing to our Guernsey operation. Our Jersey business has continued to be busy throughout Covid 19 and we have used this period of change and reflection to substantially invest into advanced systems to improve our processes and efficiencies. We believe this investment will greatly assist our candidates and clients, whilst providing our team with an improved work/life balance through remote working”.
Lynda continued: “A number of the Jersey Recruiters have really enjoyed working from home and been very productive, so we have now decided as a company to offer more flexibility as we move forward and Suzy’s appointment will be on a remote basis, linking into all of our systems from home. Suzy will continue to visit clients at their own offices and candidates can be registered virtually, face to face, or by telephone, which offers much more flexibility. Recruitment is a business that can easily adapt and we have already proved our success in conducting our business remotely throughout Covid 19. It seems opportune to continue our growth plans and to provide both office and remote working options to integrate our people and systems into the new normal”.
