Jersey-based Kiran Guraya, a manager at HSBC’s Trust business, has been awarded a STEP Excellence Award for her outstanding performance in a qualification from the body representing trust and estate practitioners around the world.
Kiran received the award having achieved the highest mark globally on the Company Law and Practice Advanced Certificate as part of her STEP Diploma in International Trust Management. She was one of only two STEP Jersey practitioners to be featured in the Awards, which were announced at the end of last month.
The STEP Excellence Awards recognise the top-scoring students in each of the STEP exams worldwide. The individuals recognised through the Awards represent the best and the brightest practitioners – many of whom will be names to watch out for in the years ahead.
Commenting on Kiran’s success, Anthony Hingley, Head of Private Wealth Solutions for HSBC in the Channel Islands, said: “I am absolutely delighted for Kiran. She has shown real commitment to her professional development including through her STEP qualification, and this international recognition from the global body for trust practitioners is testament to that. It’s also a reflection of the high standards we hold ourselves to as a team”.
Kiran added: “To be included in a list of top-scoring students from around the world by my professional body is a great honour and a testament to the support of my team and colleagues at HSBC. The course has been invaluable in bringing together the numerous elements that a skilled trust manager and administrator must consider and I’m now looking forward to applying what I have learned in my day-to-day role”.
