Advocate Vicky Milner will be joining Viberts as a partner in early March.
Called to the English Bar in 1996 and the Jersey Bar in 2008, Vicky has specialised in employment law since 2001 and worked in two of the island’s best known offshore law firms before setting up Callington Chambers in 2013.
Vicky’s experience includes successful litigation in ground-breaking areas, such as challenging the powers of the Jersey Employment and Discrimination Tribunal and testing the geographical scope of Jersey law in relation to offshore employment. She represented The Law Society of Jersey in a case raising discrimination and human rights issues in connection with admission to the Jersey Bar.
In her new role, Vicky will provide advice on all areas of employment law, including: advice to senior executives and directors; redundancy; discrimination; maternity rights; unfair and constructive dismissal; contentious matters (including representation in the Royal Court and Tribunal); and contracts of employment.
Zoe Blomfield, managing partner at Viberts, said: “We are very excited to have someone of Vicky’s experience joining the Viberts employment team. Vicky’s appointment alongside existing partner, Paul Wilson, not only enhances our employment offering but also cements our position as one of the strongest employment teams on the island.”
Vicky said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Viberts. As an independent full service Jersey law firm with broad expertise and a real commitment to client care, Viberts is a perfect complement to the services I offer.
”I look forward to continuing to support clients through the ever changing landscape of employment law in Jersey and to working alongside the wider Viberts team.”
