Sanne, a provider of alternative asset and corporate administration services, has donated £40,000 to local mental health charity Mind Jersey to support the work the charity is undertaking.

Sanne are long standing patrons of Mind Jersey having organised a number of charitable events to raise funds over more than two years.  These have included pub quizzes, staff direct donations from their monthly salaries, bake sales, charity football matches and charity cycle rides.

With the advent of the global Coronavirus pandemic millions of people are in isolation and bound to their homes. Under these circumstances, looking after our mental health and wellbeing is now more important than ever. Mind Jersey is an independent local charity that provides support to people and their families living with mental illness. Their vision is to promote and protect good mental health for all, treating people with mental illness fairly, positively and with respect. All money raised by Mind Jersey stays in Jersey for the benefit of its people.

James Le Feuvre, Executive Director at Mind Jersey, said: “The team at Mind Jersey is still very much here to listen and to help during what can be challenging times. Most of Mind Jersey’s existing services are still operating, albeit using new technologies as a means of communicating.”

James Le Feuvre, Executive Director at Mind Jersey, said: “Mind Jersey has to raise in excess of £650,000 per year to maintain the services that we currently deliver. Whilst some of this money comes from grants, much of it comes from fundraising initiatives and we are extremely grateful to SANNE for all their fundraising efforts. This significant and welcome donation will enable the charity to expand its work with children and the youth, some of whom are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties; especially during this difficult time.”

Half of all mental health problems have been established by the age of 15, rising to 75% by the age of 24. It is for this reason that the charity hopes to extend their service offering in this important area by providing more support to young people aged between 7 and 24.

As part of their support, Sanne has also agreed to be the sole sponsor of Mind Jersey’s ‘Shabby Chic to Antiques’ annual event held at the RJA&HS showground, planned for this November. Sanne’s sponsorship of this event will ensure that all income raised over the weekend can be ploughed back into Mind Jersey’s frontline services.

Stephanie Hopkins, Country Head – Jersey at Sanne said: “We are delighted to continue our support for Mind in Jersey, particularly at a time where the mental health of the local community, and around the globe, is being deeply challenged as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The last few months have been unprecedented. Now it is more important than ever that people take time to support each other and find ways to look after their own mental health and wellbeing.  We are proud to support Mind and the great work they do to promote good mental health in the local community. Our support signals only the beginning of a productive partnership between Sanne and Mind Jersey.”
