The Channel Islands Travelmaker has been named one of the top travel agencies in the UK and Ireland by the Travel Trade Gazette.
It is the fifth consecutive year the company has been runner-up for the National Touring Award, beating more than 500 other travel agencies.
The gazette, which is one of the UK’s leading travel industry magazines, also singled out Guernsey’s Travelmaker team, shortlisting it for the Best in the South West and as one of the top 50 travel agencies in the British Isles.
‘Now in its fifth year, our TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative sees us scour the UK and Ireland to find the hardest-working, most committed and most successful travel agency businesses in the land,’ said Travel Trade Gazette’s group editor Pippa Jacks.
‘The travel industry is currently facing a monumental challenge, but the coronavirus crisis has created an opportunity for the nation’s best travel agencies – those that offer their customers extraordinary service, expertise and support their local communities – to shine.
‘Each agency that earned a place in our Top 50 list this year worked hard to impress our judges and should feel incredibly proud of what they have achieved.’
Finalists were assessed on customer service, expertise, business performance, and social corporate responsibility.
‘We are delighted to once again be recognised as one of the top travel agencies in the UK by the Travel Trade Gazette. We have been recognised every year since the awards were started five years ago and that is a real credit to the team and their hard work, expertise and fantastic customer service,’ said Carl Winn, head of Travelmaker, which is currently operating with a closed-door policy.
The annual awards event was due to take place in the UK but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
