KPMG in the Channel Islands has announced a number of key promotions within their cross island tax team.
In Jersey, they have welcomed Paul Eastwood to the team, who joins as a Director. Having previously led a Big 4 tax practice in Jersey, Paul had until recently been working as the Deputy Comptroller in the Jersey Taxes Office.
Head of Tax for the Channel Islands John Riva commented: “Paul brings a unique insight in assisting our clients in navigating the issues and challenges presented by the Economic Substance Rules introduced in both Guernsey and Jersey at the start of the year. These rules represent one of the most significant challenges to doing business in both islands and Paul’s appointment leaves us confident that we can remain at the forefront in this area both locally and internationally.”
In addition to Paul Eastwood, Jersey have promoted Chris Lowe to Associate Tax Director. Chris has led the AEOI offering in the Channel Islands for a number of years.
Mr Riva commented that his promotion is “well-earned recognition of the hard work, excellent client service and wise counsel he has and continues to provide”.
In Guernsey, Paul Beale has been promoted to Tax Director and will head up the cross island private client practice, which includes UK and international tax services to trustees, assisting real estate clients with the ever changing UK legislation and providing advice to those seeking to relocate to Guernsey.
Paul commented: “I am thrilled for the opportunity and the chance to continue to grow this area of the business. We have laid excellent foundations in the past few years and have a strong team in place to meet the rapidly evolving challenges faced.”
Also, in Guernsey, Anderson Page has been promoted to Senior Manager in US tax whilst Nana Aboagye and Matthew Thomas have been promoted to Tax Manager respectively.
