Following the success of four ‘Kitchen Inferno’ events, Freedom Media has launched a new event for Jersey that will raise funds for Jersey Cheshire Home.
The Big Bake, sponsored by Rowlands, is the ‘ultimate afternoon tea’ cooking competition.
The ten teams will be assigned their mentor chef. The teams and the top local chefs will be paired at random. Each team will then have 1 hour to discuss their ideas for their theme for their ultimate afternoon tea presentation. They will then receive just 16 hours of training leading up to the main event on 20 October 20 that will be hosted by Celebrity Chef Brian Turner at the RJA&HS.
Under the leadership of ten of Jersey’s local chefs, ten teams of six will go head-to-head, competing to create and bake the best afternoon tea. Competitors will be taught the skills they need to wow diners and world-renowned pastry chef and judge Claire Clarke.
