2019 Jersey Customer Service Awards winners announced

The Sure Customer Service Awards winners were announced at a presentation ceremony on Monday evening to a packed audience at the Royal Yacht. Individual and team winners represented the full spectrum of the Jersey business community – all sharing a commitment to delivering excellent customer care.

The overall winner for 2019 was the team from New Era Medical Centre on Bath Street.  Part of the Channel Islands Cooperative Society, the team not only won Best Service from a Team but were selected by the judges as overall winners due to the quality of feedback provided by their customers.

Mark Cox, Acting CEO of the Cooperative Society, said: “It is always pleasing to receive recognition for the good work our colleagues do, however awards like the Jersey Customer Service Awards really do mean so much as it’s our customers recognising our colleagues for the great service they provide. The Society are very proud of the team at New Era Medical Centre who deserve the recognition for the high standard of service and care they provide our members and customers every day.”

Director of Jersey Chamber of Commerce Murray Norton presented an award and said: “’Chamber is delighted to support this important initiative. It fits perfectly with our commitment to encourage the highest levels of service across all sectors. We hope to work alongside Jill and all of the retail and hospitality sectors as part of our focus on supporting business in general.”

Coordinator of the event Jill Clark said: “This year has seen more customers and businesses involved than ever before. A real positive of the awards is that the customer nominations give detail about why they or their team members have really gone the extra mile and delivered exceptional service – some going into pages of feedback. The feedback not only lets them know they are doing a great job, but also how things can be improved – so that service just gets better and better.  That will be a positive move for everyone in Jersey – tourists and locals alike.

“It is clear from the number of entries for this year’s awards that both customers and businesses take customer service very seriously and understand that great customer experience is essential. It was a wonderful evening for the winners, but all the finalists should be thrilled to have got this far – all finalists received certificates in recognition of their amazing achievements. We are also presenting another 50 ‘Highly Commended’ certificates to those who deserve recognition for upstanding top-quality customer service.”
