Have you ever wanted to spend your Sunday with 116 potential politicians?
116 candidates standing in Guernsey’s first island wide election will be available at Beau Sejour on Sunday 20 September from 10.00am – 4.00pm for discussions and questions about their future ambitions.
The aim of the day is to provide an informal setting for members of the public to engage with candidates, discuss the issues that matter to them and ask questions that will assist with their decision-making process ahead of October’s election.
Registrar-General of Electors Colette Falla said ‘This event is an excellent opportunity to get to know the people behind the manifestos. We would encourage as many Islanders as possible to take advantage of the day and drop in at a time that suits them to explore the room and see what the candidates have to offer.
‘We understand that those voting have a lot of information to consider and a number of decisions to make this year, so in addition to online candidate profiles and a combined manifesto booklet, we wanted to offer a face-to-face opportunity as we know how useful these types of conversations can be.
‘We are incredibly lucky that Guernsey’s current position with COVID-19 means that this event can safely go ahead, and we anticipate both a busy and interesting day in the Sir John Loveridge Hall.’
The Youth Commission for Guernsey will also be attending with information and resources for first time voters and young islanders.
Polling days for the Guernsey General Election 2020 are 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th October.
