Lindsay Ozanne was appointed Managing Director of Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited in 2020. An Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a member of the Institute of Directors, she has more than 30 years’ experience managing the financial and estate planning interests of private clients.
Lindsay lives in Guernsey with her husband of nearly 30 years, Richard, and son Joe. They have also just become proud fur-parents to a Cavapoo puppy.
What’s your day-to-day work routine?
I’m an early riser. My day starts at 5am, so I can exercise before work. I usually arrive at the office between 7.45am – 8.00am and am greeted by a cuppa. That’s probably the only thing that is routine in my working day, which can consist of meetings, reading reports and reviewing documents. Every day is different.
What’s the most interesting thing about your work?
The variety – no two days are the same. I can plan for the following day and it can all change overnight.
What are you watching/reading/listening to?
I like a good drama and have just enjoyed watching Safe on Netflix. I’ve recently read the Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons and would highly recommend it.

When are you happiest?
From a work perspective, seeing the team working together to succeed. From a personal perspective, when I get the work/life balance right.
What keeps you awake at night?
I try to leave worries at the bedroom door, though not always successfully. I do have a habit, however, of waking up in the night thinking of things I need to do the following day and having to make a note of them so as not to forget.

What traits do you dislike in other people?
Dishonesty, a lack of integrity and playing people off against one another.
What do you do to relax?
It may not sound like relaxing but I do like a good work out
