Tania da Silva, Lead, Assistant Relationship Managers Team, at Butterfield Bank in Jersey, is in the hot seat today, reflecting on how 2020 has been for her both personally and professionally, her idea of a good Christmas and her hopes for 2021.
How has this year been for you personally?
A year for reflection, understanding what is important and prioritising the things that matter.
How has this year been for you professionally?
Just before lockdown I took on a new role at Butterfield, managing our front office team. There’s been a few challenges and lessons learnt along the way for all of us, but again, when you look back we’ve actually accomplished a lot together.
It has strengthened us as a team to be able to face any obstacles that will come our way. It has also shown me what can be achieved with teamwork and support from your colleagues when you need it most…anything is possible!
What’s your ‘hot take’ for 2020?
People’s resilience and acts of kindness during a year of uncertainty.
Tell us your hopes for 2021
A return to normality where we have the freedom to meet with clients, colleagues and family without any constraints.
What would you like to see the States of Jersey focus on first in 2021?
Providing support to families and businesses that have been severely impacted by COVID-19, and begin to revive our local economy.
What does a perfect Christmas for you look like?
Being surrounded by people you love and cherish.
Do you prefer Christmas or New Year?
Having kids, it’s got to be Christmas, hands down.
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
Elf with Will Ferrell.
Are you ready for Christmas or do you wait until the last minute to get organised?
Hate to say it but yes I’m one of those who likes to start early and avoid the last minute craziness (and impulse buys!)
What would you like Santa to leave under the tree for you this year?
Simply health and happiness, what more do you need?
