Only one Channel Island restaurant features in the Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland 2020.
Of the 187 Michelin-starred restaurants announced last week, only Bohemia, at Jersey’s The Club Hotel & Spa, has made the cut, maintaining its one star rating for an impressive 16 years. Mark Jordan at the Beach has also retained its coveted Bib Gourmand recommendation in the 2020 guide.
‘I’m incredibly proud that Bohemia has retained its star for the 16th year. It’s a testament to the continual hard work of the entire restaurant staff, and I think it’s truly well deserved,’ Tim Phillips, general manager at The Club Hotel & Spa, told the Jersey Evening Post.
A total of 16 restaurants have lost stars in the newly launched guide. Among them was Samphire in Jersey, formerly Ormer, which did not retain its one-star rating.
For the first time, Bohemia’s Executive Chef Steve Smith will open the kitchen pass to guests at a special opening evening on 7 November, between 5pm and 7pm. Tickets include Champagne, wine, canapés and a tour of the kitchens and are available at eventbrite.com.
