Condor is removing the need for a negative Covid-19 test in order to travel outbound from Guernsey and Jersey to the UK or France on all passenger carrying ferries.
The prerequisite of a negative test produced within 72 hours of departure from the UK and France continues on the Commodore Clipper in order to safeguard lifeline freight supplies. The change in policy comes into effect on 31 March.
Elwyn Dop, Condor’s Operations Director, said: “The encouraging news of a relaxation in on-Island restrictions across the Islands provides us with the confidence to remove the current requirement for tests for travel outbound from Guernsey and Jersey.
“Throughout the pandemic, the safety of passengers, freight clients, crew and staff has been of paramount importance, so this decision can be reversed if deemed necessary. We therefore remain in regular dialogue with the relevant authorities in our four jurisdictions on the border and travel restrictions.’ The company confirmed that strict protocols, developed 12 months ago, continue on board. Heightened safety and hygiene procedures are also being maintained.
“Our change in policy has no bearing on the need for testing and other arrival requirements by Public Health authorities and passengers are advised to check the requirements for all countries to which they are travelling”.
