Travel Eye CI is delighted to have partnered with the Jersey Hospitality Association, to bring you weekly updates from all that is new within Jersey’s thriving attraction, food, drink and hospitality industry.
We begin with a statement from Simon Soar, Chief Executive Officer:
“The goal of the Jersey Hospitality Association – as it has been over its 62-year history – is to provide a strong voice for this vibrant and diverse industry.
“This means that we have to move with the times to make sure that we represent all our members and attract others to join us. Once an association of hotels and guest houses we are delighted to now include any businesses involved in hospitality and tourism, bringing in representatives from attractions, bars, pubs, restaurants, café’s, campsites, tour operators, tour guides, hospitality wholesalers and many more. It’s through this broad range of members that we can generate the biggest impact with what we do, as we cover all angles relating to our industry.
“We have a new strapline at the JHA – #StrongerAsOne – and our work over the past few years to bring a new energy and enthusiasm has certainly proved that this is the case. In two short years we have seen a significant increase in membership, we have an improved and positive working relationship with the Island’s government and there is growing understanding and respect for hospitality among the wider community.
“Since joining the JHA as the new Association Manager in 2018 and becoming CEO later in the year, I have seen first-hand the drive of the committee to bring the JHA into a new year and one which reflects the contribution made by hospitality – and tourism – to the island’s economy. We serve some 700k+ visitors a year provide an excellent service to 100,000 people who live here.
“I am personally very proud of my role with the Association and enjoy being part of an organisation which is dedicated to the continual improvement of the environment in which our members work so that we can all thrive and maintain the quality of service that our islanders and visitors have come to expect.
“I look forward to updating you in this weekly platform on Travel Eye CI, and hope you will all subscribe to read our regular updates.”
