New story trail set to inspire young readers at Millbrook Park
Every Child Our Future is delighted to announce the launch of this year’s Story Trail, set to take place at Millbrook Park on Sunday 30th March – a special Mother’s Day event! Running from 10am to 1pm, the launch event promises to be a wonderful day out for families, filled with storytelling, creative activities, and outdoor fun.
Every Child Our Future, in partnership with Children, Young People, Education and Skills (CYPES), are excited to reveal that the first book featured on the Story Trail will be The Tale of Peter Rabbit Picture Book by Beatrix Potter. This much-loved children’s classic follows the mischievous adventures of Peter Rabbit as he navigates the garden of Mr. McGregor.
Following the launch, the Story Trail will be a permanent fixture in Millbrook Park, with a rotation of carefully chosen books throughout the year. The team aim to deliver an engaging and ever-changing literary experience for children and families, encouraging them to return again and again to discover new adventures.
The launch event is free to attend, and tickets can be booked via Eventbrite. Families can look forward to interactive readings from local authors, hands-on creative activities from Nature Base, and the opportunity to explore the Story Trail in the beautiful surroundings of Millbrook Park.
Cris Lakeman, CEO of Every Child Our Future, expressed excitement about the initiative, stating: “We believe that encouraging a love of reading from an early age is vital, and the Story Trail is a fantastic way to bring books to life in a fun, interactive, and outdoor setting. We’re thrilled that this will now be a permanent feature at Millbrook Park, allowing children to engage with stories all year round.”
The initiative has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Le Masurier and Soroptimist International Jersey, whose contributions have ensured that families can enjoy this enriching literary experience for years to come.
