Community walk to beat the blues
The team at St Helier department store, de Gruchy, are encouraging Islanders to step out and connect this January with a community walk aimed at boosting spirits and promoting well-being.
The event will take place this coming Monday, 20th January.
The 45-minute walk, starting at 12pm, offers a perfect opportunity for those on their lunch break to get outside, enjoy some fresh air and connect with others. Participants will meet at the Freedom Tree near the Radisson Blu and take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront before heading back into town, finishing at the store in King Street.
To make the occasion even more refreshing, de Gruchy, in partnership with Tiffin, are offering participants a freshly made smoothie or juice for just £2, with the store and Tiffin covering over half of the usual cost. For those short on time, drinks can be taken away to enjoy back at the office or home.
Commenting on the walk Simon Youden, Store Director at de Gruchy said: “We know January can be a tough month and Blue Monday in particular often feels especially gloomy. This community walk is a chance for us to come together, get some fresh air and lift our spirits as a community and we’re delighted to offer a little something to brighten people’s day.”
The event is open to all, and no registration is required. Simply meet at the Freedom Tree at 12pm on Monday, 20th January.
