
Black Tie Dinner 2025: An evening with Dr. I. Stephanie Boyce
The Guernsey International Legal Association (GILA) is pleased to announce the return of our annual Black Tie dinner to be held on Friday 28 March 2025 from 5:45pm at St Pierre Park Hotel.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. I.Stephanie Boyce (HON. CAUSA, LLB (HONS), LLM, DIPICARB, FCG, FRSA, FKC, Honorary Professor of Law), the former President of the Law Society of England and Wales, former Council member of the Law Society of England and Wales representing the Women Lawyers Division, former Chair of the Strategic Litigation Group and former member of the Board of the Law Society, and a solicitor member of the Joint Tribunal Service. Dr Boyce is also a former member of the HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) commissioned – independent Taskforce to boost socio-economic diversity at senior levels in UK financial and professional services. The topic of the lecture is: “Lifting as we Climb”
With a wealth of experience in corporate governance, regulatory frameworks and professional regulation, whilst making great efforts to support and uplift prospective lawyers from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities throughout her career, it is sure to be an enlightening evening.
We are also delighted to announce that this year his Excellency, the Lieutenant-Governor Richard Cripwell CB, CBE will join us along with The Bailiff, Sir Richard McMahon, the HM Procureur & HM Receiver General, Mrs Megan M.E. Pullum and the HM Comptroller & HM Deputy Receiver General, Mr Robert Titterington KC.
