DESCRIPTION:Join fellow developers and engineers from across the Island as part of the Software Engineering & Development Community of Practice (CoP)!\nThis CoP exists to unite software engineers, developers, and those with a professional interest in the sector from across the Isle of Man. A shared space to exchange expertise, develop unique skills, and collaborate on the opportunities shaping the ever-evolving world of software engineering.\nWhat to expect\nEach session is designed to foster a strong, connected community of developers on the Island – encouraging the sharing of ideas, experiences, use cases and best practices in a welcoming and inclusive environment.\nSessions will span a range of topics, from AI and geolocation to code analysis and diagramming – with each meet-up centred around a different theme, so there’s always something new to explore and take away!\nExperienced engineers will also have the opportunity to lead future sessions and Q&As, making this a community shaped by the people within the sector in the Island.\nThis Month’s Theme\nUsing a deliberately “nightmare” piece of code, this interactive session explores how developers can approach large, complex software systems that are suffering from technical debt.\nTogether, attendees will examine the different strategies developers often consider, from asking AI for help and consulting experienced colleagues, to working around the problem or taking a structured analytical approach.\n
