SUMMARY:Guernsey Air Display
DESCRIPTION:The Red Arrows will return to Guernsey for this year’s evening Air Display on the evening of Wednesday 9 September.\nThe RAF events team has confirmed the Dakota from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) will be joining the Reds in the skies above St Peter Port. Organisers are now working with private display teams to build up the full flying order.\nThe Douglas C47 Dakota is one of the most successful military transport aircraft designs in history and was widely used by the Allies during World War Two. The Dakota ZA947, which will be flying in the display, conducted paradropping operations on the eve of D-Day, as well as missions to evacuate casualties and resupply forces.\nBarry Neal, Flying Display Director, said: “We know how much the Air Display means to the community, and securing aircraft of this calibre helps ensure the 2026 event will make for another memorable evening. The Red Arrows are always a huge draw with islanders and visitors alike, and the Dakota adds a unique sense of history and heritage to the evening, making for a really special combination in the skies over St Peter Port.”\n“As ever, the display relies on the generous backing of local sponsors and supporters and this is becoming more challenging each year. Every contribution, whether from a business as a sponsor or an individual supporter, plays an important role in helping us deliver the event and we’re very grateful to everyone who helps make it possible,” added Natalie Davidson, Event Organiser, Black Vanilla.\n
