SUMMARY:Please Touch: An exhibition of new work by Paige Le Geyt
DESCRIPTION:CCA Galleries International is pleased to present the first solo exhibition by Jersey artist Paige Le Geyt, whose tactile abstract works explore themes of neurodivergence, repetition and sensory experience.\nLe Geyt developed her practice while studying for her Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Highlands College. After graduating, she was invited to remain at the college as Artist in Residence, where she further developed her distinctive visual language and material approach. Her work combines abstract form with highly textured surfaces created through careful and repetitive processes. Central to the exhibition is an invitation for visitors to physically interact with the artworks – an unusual and intentional departure from traditional gallery conventions.\nThe repetitive nature of Le Geyt’s making process reflects both the meditative and more challenging aspects of living with OCD and autism, with each piece acting as a physical manifestation of lived experience. Through the interplay of organic forms and structured geometric elements, her work explores tensions between chaos and control, obsession and resolution, and identity and perception.\nShe has previously exhibited in several local exhibitions and contributed to community art initiatives. In 2024, she received both the Summer Prize and the RBC Emerging Artist Award at the Jersey Summer Exhibition, recognising her as a significant emerging artist in Jersey’s contemporary art scene.\nSpeaking about the exhibition, Paige said: “These artworks are all meant to be touched and physically interacted with. For me, touch is essential to fully experiencing the ideas behind the work. Each piece is created through repetitive processes that reflect both the meditative and difficult aspects of neurodivergence. Through texture, form and material, I aim to share something of what it feels like to live inside my perspective.”\n
