DESCRIPTION:The much-loved Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop 30 Rides in 30 Days cycling challenge is set to return in May 2026, marking a very special year for Les Bourgs Hospice as it celebrates its 35th anniversary.\nOrganised and sponsored once again by Ian Brown, well-known Guernsey cyclist and owner of Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop, and proudly supported by Specsavers, the challenge will run from Saturday 2nd May through to Sunday 31st May 2026, finishing on the same day as the island’s iconic Rocque to Rock Cycle Ride.\nSince the event’s launch in 2008, 30 Rides in 30 Days has grown into one of Guernsey’s most successful and enduring fundraising initiatives. Over the past 18 years, the challenge has seen:\n\n642 riders\n41,670 individual rides\n587,250 miles cycled\n£1,179,956.65 raised for Les Bourgs Hospice\n\nParticipants commit to riding their bike for one hour a day for 30 consecutive days, either individually or as part of a team of up to four. Riders are encouraged to set a fundraising target of £900 per individual or team, helping to support the vital services provided by Les Bourgs Hospice.\nInterest in the 2026 challenge is already strong, with 50 riders registered to date. Organisers are hopeful that, in this landmark anniversary year, participation will break all previous records.\nIan Brown, organiser of 30 Rides in 30 Days, said: “I’m really looking forward to celebrating Les Bourgs 35th anniversary year with the 30 Rides in 30 Days event and to meeting up with both past participants and new riders who are taking part for the first time. As in all previous years, we’re keeping everything crossed that we raise a substantial amount of money for the wonderful Hospice.”\nRob Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Les Bourgs Hospice, added: “30 Rides in 30 Days is one of those events that truly embodies the spirit of Guernsey. It brings people together, challenges them personally, and delivers an extraordinary impact for our charity. The funds raised continue to make a real difference to the care we provide to islanders and their families.
