SUMMARY:Sanctuary Trust marks World Homeless Day
DESCRIPTION:Sanctuary Trust will mark World Homeless Day on Friday 10th October with a community stand at Charing Cross, St Helier, from 11am to 3pm.\nThe event will raise awareness of homelessness in Jersey and give islanders the chance to learn more about the work of Sanctuary Trust, which provides accommodation and tailored support to help men rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.\nMembers of the public are warmly invited to drop by to chat with the team, pick up information, and find out how they can support the charity’s work. People can also sign up on the day for the 2025 Sleep Out, Sanctuary Trust’s flagship fundraising event taking place on Friday 14th November at Pier Road Car Park.\nChair Tim Ringsdore said: “World Homeless Day is a chance to come together as a community, learn more about the realities of homelessness in Jersey, and take action. We’d love to see people visit us on the day at Charing Cross to find out more, and we’re especially calling on organisations and corporate teams to register for this year’s Sleep Out and help us reach our £50,000 fundraising target.”\nSkipton International, the sponsor of this year’s Sleep Out, will join the stand to show their support and encourage more people to get involved.\nCharlotte Dunsterville, Chief Commercial Officer at Skipton International, said: “At Skipton International, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. That’s why we’re proud to support the Sanctuary Trust, whose work transforms lives across Jersey. Through initiatives like our Skipton Community Fund and events such as the Sleep Out, we aim to make a real difference in tackling homelessness. Taking part in the Sleep Out is a powerful act of solidarity, and we’d love to see individuals, families, and businesses join us in raising vital funds and awareness for this important cause.”\nAll funds raised from the Sleep Out will go directly towards Sanctuary Trust’s work supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in our island community.\n
