DESCRIPTION:Over the last 6 weeks, Guernsey Arts has been host to some fantastical creatures as part of James Kitts’ ‘The Shrouded Isles of Sarnia’ exhibition, creating an immersive space to discover them and the stories of skekSalt. To celebrate the final day of this exhibition, James will be joining his creations to bring them to life and invites the public to discover the world through skekSalts journals.\nJade Kershaw, Community & Public Realm Officer: “Guernsey Arts is really pleased to be able to offer a chance to interact with our latest exhibition and meet the puppets that have been enjoyed while stationary over the last 6 weeks. James’ work has captured everyone’s imagination and has been a great example of creating an immersive exhibition for all ages to enjoy. We can’t wait to meet our new fantastical friends!”\n‘Discoveries from The Shrouded Isles of Sarnia’ is a narrative surrounding new Island Folklore. James has developed a new mythology of magical creatures, a set of which he has built practically as life-sized puppets.\nThe creature skekSalt has voyaged far to uncover the mysteries of the rumoured hidden realm, Sarnia. This realm, if the stories are true, exists right on top of Guernsey, on a different plane of existence. Only those who find themselves adrift in the fog can slip beyond the veil into this realm of uncanny fantastical creatures.\nJames will be in the Greenhouse Gallery at Guernsey Museums on Sunday 12th October at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm for performances with the puppets, and to talk about his work.\nPerformances are free with normal museum admission (free with a Discovery Pass).\n
