DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Law is delighted to announce the return of its popular lunchtime talks, Law Made Simple.\nThe talks will take place from Monday 8 to Friday 12 September, 12.15pm – 1.15pm at the Public Library, St Helier.\nEach talk will focus on a different area of law and will be delivered by experienced Jersey lawyers.\nDesigned to make legal issues more accessible to the public, these talks are free to attend and open to all, with no booking required.\nThe subjects covered will be as follows:\n\nMonday 8 September – Family Law: Divorce, Separation and Children\nTuesday 9 September – Wills, Succession and Probate\nWednesday 10 September – Owning and Renting Property\nThursday 11 September – Small Claims and Tribunals, including the Petty Debts Court and Employment & Discrimination Tribunal\nFriday 12 September – Legal Aid and Acting as a Litigant in Person\n\nAdvocate Claire Davies, Associate Dean (Professional Programmes) at the Institute of Law, said: “We are very pleased to bring back the Law Made Simple series. These talks provide an invaluable opportunity for members of the community to gain a clearer understanding of important legal issues that may affect them or their families.
