SUMMARY:Fifth annual Mac100 charity ride in support of Macmillan Jersey
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday, 10 August, cyclists across Jersey are invited to saddle up for the Mac100, a 100km charity ride around the island in support of Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey, sponsored this year by local lending business, Hawk.\nOrganised by local cycling enthusiasts Robert Kean and Adrian Rowland, the Mac100 offers riders of all abilities the chance to take on an island-wide challenge while raising vital funds for people affected by cancer in Jersey.\nThe Mac100 forms part of the duo’s wider fundraising mission ahead of their major cycling challenge this September, when they’ll ride from Biarritz to the Mediterranean, tackling the gruelling climbs of the Pyrenees along the way. All funds raised will go directly to Macmillan Jersey and the vital work they do in the local community.\nAdrian Rowland commented: “The 10 August 2025 marks the fifth edition of the now-annual Mac100, kindly sponsored this year by Hawk. It’s a fun-focused 100km cycle ride that follows a route showcasing the natural beauty of Jersey’s landscape.\n“We’re incredibly grateful for the fantastic support of all our participants. Their entry fees, and any additional fundraising, make a real difference to the invaluable work of Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey.\n“This year, we’re hoping to welcome over 200 riders. For those who haven’t registered in advance, we’ll be accepting sign-ups on the day at St Clement’s Parish Hall between 7:30 and 8:00am. Our goal is to push our total fundraising across all Mac100 events past the £50,000 mark, so do come along and enjoy a brilliant day out for a great cause.”\nNeil Spacie, Managing Director, Hawk, added: ‘We’re really proud to be supporting this year’s Mac100. It’s a great local event that brings people together and raises money for a cause that touches so many lives here in Jersey. The work Macmillan Jersey does is incredibly important, and we’re pleased to play a small part in helping Adrian, Robert and all the riders hit their fundraising target.”\nParticipants can start their ride any time between 7:30am and 8:30am from St Clement’s Parish Hall, with the flexibility to ride any type of bike, from road and mountain bikes to e-bikes.\nWhether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just up for a challenge with friends, the Mac100 is a unique opportunity to enjoy Jersey’s stunning scenery while supporting a cause that touches so many lives.\n\nPictured: Left to right – Robert Morton, Adrian Rowland and Robert Kean.\n
