SUMMARY:30 Bays in 30 Days challenge
DESCRIPTION:It’s nearly time to explore the different bays in Jersey by swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking or surfing as part of our summer challenge! 30 Bays in 30 Days is back raising money for Jersey Hospice Care and the National Trust for Jersey.\nThe challenge is open to people of all ages who want to get outdoors and take advantage of our stunning beaches, while raising money for two local charities. Participants can pick their favourite bays or if they want an extra challenge, can attempt all 30 on our map.\nMarina Brockbank, Community Engagement Officer for Jersey Hospice Care, said: “We hope as many people as possible will take part and enjoy our 30 Bays in 30 Days challenge. This year, we’ve opened up the challenge so you sign up throughout July and August. This is such a great event that gets everyone out and about exploring the Island and swimming in the sea. I’d encourage everyone to get involved, whether you’ve been doing it for years or this is your first time, it’s a great way to enjoy our Island and raise vital funds for two local charities.”\nAlan Le Maistre, Chief Executive Officer of the National Trust for Jersey, said: “We’re looking forward to people coming together, out in nature, to enjoy the 30 Bays Challenge this summer. Thank you to everyone who takes part and raises funds us both us and Jersey Hospice Care. 30 Bays is the perfect chance to reconnect with our stunning coastline, so get involved and let’s celebrate and enjoy our beautiful Island in this fun and unique way.”\nThe event is sponsored by Livingroom, and Simon Torode, the Chief Executive, said: “At Livingroom, we’re incredibly proud to sponsor 30 Bays in 30 Days, which raises money for two Jersey charities that are integral to the fabric of our Island life and local community. I encourage everyone to get involved and explore our beautiful Island’s bays – the more you swim, the more you see, and on an Island like Jersey, there’s no shortage of breathtaking beaches right on your doorstep. The water that surrounds us connects us all, and this kind of community fundraising is vital to Island life. You can make a real difference by taking part – and rediscover Jersey in the process.”\nOur opening swim is on Sunday 29 June at 9:00 and our closing swim will be on Friday 29 August at 17:30. Both will be at Greve De Lecq beach.\nParticipants will receive a 30 Bays poster map and sticker chart for younger swimmers, and the first 100 to sign up will receive a 30 Bays swim hat.\n
