DESCRIPTION:The first evening Guernsey Battle of Britain Air Display will take off on Wednesday 10 September.\nSet to take place from 6.30pm-8pm for the first time, this year’s event breaks away from the traditional day-time slot to be more accessible to all age groups, allowing the community to enjoy the spectacle together.\nThe RAF events team confirmed the Red Arrows will return, and the Typhoon display aircraft will make a welcome appearance.\n“The Red Arrows are stalwarts of the display and we’re so proud to have been able to secure the in-demand Typhoon jet. James Brown’s Hurricane will provide a fitting Battle of Britain element. Crowds will also be excited to see the Pitts Biplane return to this year’s event with gravity defying aerobatics, before a fireworks conclusion by Airborne Pyrotechnics,” said Barry Neal, Flying Display Director.\nTo mark the new evening display, a food village will open at the end of Crown Pier with local caterers The Guernsey Catering Company, Iwaris, Amchi Bus, Baan Thai, Ben’s Bar and Little Big Brew. Seating will also be available on Crown Pier to watch the aircraft over St Peter Port.\nThe Typhoon PR trailer and RAF Recruitment Team will also be located at the end of the Crown Pier where you can find out more about the role of the Typhoon and career opportunities within the RAF.\nNatalie Davidson, Event Organiser said: “The Guernsey Air Display has been enjoyed by thousands for over 60 years. By moving the display to the evening and having food and entertainment on offer, we are really excited for the whole community to come together to enjoy this fantastic spectacle.\n“A massive thank you to everyone who has made this possible. The Air Display relies almost entirely on private funding from the generous support of local businesses who form a Consortium and Corporate and individual Friends of the Guernsey Air Display, alongside a grant and underwrite from the States of Guernsey. We hope everyone has a great evening.”\n
