SUMMARY:Jurassic takeover at Jersey Zoo
DESCRIPTION:Visitors at Jersey Zoo are being asked to get ready for a roar-some week as dinosaurs take over!\nFrom 24 – 30 May, the zoo will be going Jurassic as dinosaurs descend across the site. The life-like animated puppets roar, blink and move just like real dinosaurs, giving guests insights into the fascinating world of these marvellous creatures.\nVisitors can get their picture taken during a meet and greet with both a five-metre-long triceratops and four-metre-long velociraptor. They can also attend a ranger academy, as well as learn how to get a velociraptor to hold, turn and roar!\nJersey Zoo’s Education Team are also hosting fossil handling sessions in the Discovery Centre every day between 12-1, for those that want to see a triceratops tooth, touch some coprolite, feel a spinosaurus vertebrae and a fragment of T-Rex tooth.\nIan Osborne, Director of Commercial at Jersey Zoo commented: “We’re really excited for this pre-historic takeover over half-term. Dinosaurs is a new, fun activity for our members and guests, but will also provide an educational and immersive experience for them to learn more about the fascinating animals that used to roam our planet. As a conservation organisation, we are fighting every day to stop more species from going extinct and hope this event will inspire our guests to think more about the impact they are having on the natural world, as well as the steps they can take to protect it.”\n
