DESCRIPTION:Jersey Festival of Words is delighted to announce a headline event featuring Mick Herron, the #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the acclaimed Slough House thrillers.\nThe author will be appearing in conversation with writer and broadcaster Will Smith, who grew up in Jersey and recently won an Emmy for his work on the TV adaptation of Herron’s books.\nTitled Slow Horses – An Audience with Mick Herron & Will Smith, the event will take place from 8pm to 9pm on Friday 26 September at the Freedom Centre. Tickets, which will go on sale closer to the Festival, will be priced at £18, or £49 for a pair of tickets including a hardback copy of Herron’s highly anticipated new release Clown Town, the ninth book in his globally bestselling Slough House series.\nPublished in over 25 languages and adapted into the Apple TV+ hit series Slow Horses starring Gary Oldman as the irascible Jackson Lamb, Herron’s series has captivated millions and earned critical acclaim and multiple prestigious awards, including the CWA Gold, Steel and Diamond Dagger and the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year.\nThe event, which is sponsored by the Festival’s principal corporate sponsor Highvern, coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Jersey Festival of Words and promises to be a standout in this year’s programme.\n“We’re proud to support the Festival once again as it celebrates an incredible ten years,” said Highvern CEO Martin Hall. “Literature has a unique way of bringing communities together, and this annual event plays a big role in keeping that spirit alive on the island.\n“Supporting the Mick Herron event is a real highlight this year.
