SUMMARY:The Jersey Summer Exhibition 2025
DESCRIPTION:Now in its 9th year, the Jersey Summer Exhibition continues to be the highlight of the cultural calendar in Jersey and drives the standard of artwork being made. Having work exhibited at CCA Galleries  International has helped launch the careers of promising Jersey artists, as well as enforcing that of those already established.\nThe exhibition is open to emerging and established artists alike and the gallery encourages applications from artists in every stage in their career. All visual art forms are welcome, including paintings, printmaking, drawings, design, sculpture, film and photography. CCAI accept applications from artists with links to the island who may be working elsewhere as well as Channel Island artists.\nModelled after the renowned Royal Academy event in London, the Jersey Summer Exhibition stands out for its rigorous selection process. A panel of professional artists and critics carefully selects the exhibits, ensuring a dynamic and high-quality group selling exhibition. This opportunity not only provides artists with a prestigious platform but also helps to elevate their careers, whether they are emerging talents or professional artists.\nThe Jersey Summer Exhibition offers several prizes each year. Every artwork accepted into the exhibition is automatically considered for a prize and presentations take place in July at the Summer Prize awards night.\nThe Judges\nThis year’s selection panel boasts another remarkable line-up. Joining CCA judges Gillian Duke and Tom Parker will be Wayne Hemmingway and Adam Dant. We are honoured to work with Wayne and Adam this year and look forward to their insight.\nWayne Hemmingway\nWayne Hemmingway is the co-founder of ‘Hemmingway Design’ which is a multi-disciplinary design company which specialises in social design, founded with his wife Gerardine Hemmingway.\n‘Hemmingway Design’ projects cover the full scope of design disciplines such as product design, regeneration, placemaking, clothing design, interior design and brand identity. They are designers focussed on “Place, people and positive social impact.” They have won prestigious awards such as Building Magazine’s Best Housing-Led Regeneration project and worked with Shelter, The National Archives, Historic England, The National Portrait Gallery, Southbank Centre, Landsec, and TFL, to name a few.\nWayne and Gerardine have worked together since the early 1980’s when they started ‘Red or Dead’ (the fashion designer and manufacturer which won the British Fashion Council’s Street Style award 3 years in a row in 1995, 1996 and 1997).\nAdam Dant\nAdam Dant is a Jerwood Drawing Prize-winning artist. His witty work has been likened to that of William Hogarth whose satirical prints were created with a moral purpose in mind.\nDant has work in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, New York’s Museum of Modern Art, the Musee d’Art Contemporain in Lyons, The New Art Gallery Walsall, the Deutsche Bank and UBS collections, and in many leading private collections.\nHe has exhibited at Tate Modern, the Hayward Gallery, The New Art Gallery Walsall and the Institute of Contemporary Arts.\n
