SUMMARY:30 Rides in 30 Days fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:2025 sees the Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop 30 Rides in 30 Days reach eighteen years.\nThe event started in 2008 with thirty-four participants and since that year over £1.1 Million has been raised for Les Bourgs Hospice.\nAll riders who participate will need to pledge to ride their bicycles for an hour each day for thirty days from Saturday May 3rd up to Sunday June 1st , the day of the Rocque to Rock Cycle Ride which also raises funds for Les Bourgs Hospice.\nRiders can take part as individuals or, alternatively, as part of a team of up to four. Team may be made up of family members, work or friendship groups. The event is a fundraiser, and riders are asked to target £900 per individual or per team as their reason, and challenge, for taking part.\nThis year around 50 riders have already registered to take part with a good mix of past and new participants. The organisers would anticipate this will double in number before the first day on Saturday 3 rd May.\nTwo riders already registered are Nick James, Director of Group Services at Specsavers and Rob Jones the CEO at les Bourgs Hospice.\nNick James has been a regular participant in the challenge since 2019, and Specsavers have been the main supporter of the event over past four years contributing £70k to the fundraising. Rob Jones will also be taking part in 30 Rides in 30 Days again this year. He stated: “This iconic event brings together a great bunch of people and has been funding a specialist nurse for Les Bourgs for 18 years, which is just incredible. Les Bourgs isn’t funded by the States of Guernsey, so every donation counts.”\n\nPictured: Left to right – Nick James and Rob Jones, Credit: Chris George \n
