SUMMARY:Next generation of comms and media professionals networking event – Jersey
DESCRIPTION:Next generation of comms and media professionals invited to come together\nThe next generation of journalists and communications professionals will have the opportunity to come together and build their professional networks at upcoming Channel Islands events hosted by the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).\nAll Island Media in Jersey and Island FM in Guernsey will host the events on Wednesday 26 March and junior professionals from across journalism, the media, communications, marketing and PR are welcome to attend – whether they work for an agency, in-house or freelance.\nThe free events are designed as a forum for the next-generation of the industry to get to know one another, build their professional networks, and learn how each other works for greater collaboration and results.\nCIPR Channel Islands chair Alex Mallinson said it’s important that younger practitioners and those newer to the profession engage with one another and forge great connections:\n“So much of working in PR and journalism is about strong relationships, and opportunities are fairly limited for more-junior people in both industries to get out and meet one another. We wanted to address that with a free event that has no pressure – there won’t be a long presentation and there’s no expectation on attendees other than to turn up with a friendly mindset. The people who will be there are likely to be editors or leading their own agencies in a few years’ time, and it is important that they develop strong professional relationships now.\n“Our role as a committee is to promote the communications professions and ensure they have a thriving future here in the Channel Islands, that’s exactly what we’re looking to do at these events: we’re looking forward to meeting the next generation of brilliant practitioners from across the journalism and communications industries.”\n
