SUMMARY:The Delicious Jersey Food Festival
DESCRIPTION:This weekend, the heart of St Helier will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavours of the countryside as world-renowned celebrity chef Michael Caines MBE launches Jersey’s newest and most exciting food celebration – the Delicious Jersey Food Festival.\nCelebrating Jersey’s countryside and culinary heritage, the festival will run at Weighbridge Place on Saturday 26th April and Sunday 27th April, bringing sustainability, creativity and community spirit together.\nFrom farm to fork, the Delicious Jersey Food Festival is a collaboration between farmers, producers, chefs and hospitality businesses, combining food, music and farming to celebrate the best land-based produce. Kindly sponsored by the Government of Jersey and Jersey Electricity, the two-day festival is free to enter and will feature pop-up restaurants, local musicians, a farmers’ market and live cooking demonstrations in and around the marquee at Weighbridge Place.\nAna and Marcus Calvani, Co-CEOs of the Jersey Hospitality Association, said: “We created this event as part of our Delicious Jersey offering, to honour the passionate people behind Jersey’s food culture. Timed to coincide with freshly harvested Jersey Royals, the incredible dishes crafted by our local chefs celebrate our land, culture and local flavours.”\nThe legendary Michael Caines (pictured) will hold a live Q&A in the marquee at 10am on Saturday, and throughout the weekend, River Cottage founder, author and TV chef Steven Lamb will host the demonstration stage in the marquee, holding interactive demos with local beef, pork, lamb and Jersey cream.\nSteven Lamb\nAna and Marcus added: “Both Michael and Steven are hugely respected in the culinary world, and we are privileged that they’re coming here to help us celebrate Jersey’s fantastic food culture. The RJA and HS will be hosting a vibrant educational area where you can interact with calves, chat with local dairy farmers and growers, so we hope there’ll be something for everyone. With all the chefs, producers and artisans here in one place, it will be a truly magnificent celebration of Jersey food.”\nThe Delicious Jersey Food Festival is at Weighbridge Place from 10am until 7pm on Saturday April 26th, and 11am until 7pm on Sunday April 27th.\n
