SUMMARY:Connected Guernsey: The future of airlines
DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Directors (IoD) September breakfast event will focus on Guernsey’s air connections. The goal of the breakfast is to help shape and improve the future of air travel to and from the island, ensuring efficient and sustainable links that support the community and economy.\nBuilding on the findings from June’s IoD Economic Confidence Survey, where 60% of participants expressed concern about the negative impact of current air and sea links on local businesses, the event on 27th September offers a unique opportunity to engage in these issues.\nAttendees will hear from a panel of industry experts and key figures who will provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in meeting the demand for travel to and from Guernsey. The breakfast hopes to provide a deeper understanding of how we can enhance connectivity and drive positive change for the island’s future.\nThe panel will include Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Aurigny, Louise Congdon, Managing Partner of York Aviation LLP, Deputy Peter Roffey, President of the States Trading and Supervisory Board (STSB) and a representative from Blue Islands.\nGlen Tonks, Chair of the IoD in Guernsey, said: ‘We are eager to address the key concerns that were highlighted in the most recent IoD member survey.\n‘This event is an opportunity to openly discuss these issues head-on, bringing together key stakeholders to look forward and explore innovative solutions and ensure a reliable and effective transport network for the future.’\nThank you to our breakfast sponsor Skipton International for their support of this event.\n
